DONT SPLASH Upgrades Guide

Compare all six documented DONT SPLASH upgrade families, read NOW and NEXT values, match upgrades to owned equipment, and avoid guessing later costs.

DONT SPLASH has six documented upgrade families: Throwing Range, Pebble Skipping, Toy Battery, Flare Radius, Rope Reach, and Rescue Speed. Buy an upgrade only when you own and use the related equipment and can name the repeated limitation. Read the current panel’s NOW, NEXT, and price because later-level costs and exact values are not fully published by first-party records.

Upgrade index

Upgrade
Helps with
Buy when
Throwing Range
Pebbles and other thrown lure reach
The safe splash point is beyond the current arc.
Pebble Skipping
More splash activity from one pebble
One throw does not hold attention long enough.
Toy Battery
Wind-up Toy duration
The toy is owned, carried, and stops before the crossing completes.
Flare Radius
Flare hit coverage
Near misses, not poor timing, are the repeated problem.
Rope Reach
Starting rescues from farther away
A safe rescuer cannot reach a downed teammate.
Rescue Speed
Completing a rescue sooner
The interaction begins but danger or time ends it.

Read the panel before buying

The upgrade interface shows the current value, next value, and next price for the account. Buy levels in order and do not assume an old guide’s level-two or level-three cost. Some cards remain locked until the matching equipment is owned.

Check whether the displayed currency is coins or Robux. A coin level and a permanent Max game pass are different purchase paths. The official pass endpoint confirms a level 3/3 permanent benefit for each Max pass but does not publish every live price.

After buying, re-open the panel or rejoin if the value does not update. Do not purchase twice because a visual refresh is delayed.

Best early order for solo

Start with no upgrade until the base pebble loop is understood. Throwing Range is useful when the only safe lure water is beyond reach. Pebble Skipping is useful when one throw cannot keep the creature away long enough. Choose the one that matches observed failures.

Flare Radius becomes relevant only after Flare is unlocked, supplied, and carried. Toy Battery belongs to Wind-up Toy users. Rescue upgrades should be skipped in solo play because they solve teammate recovery.

An equipment unlock or supply refill can be more valuable than improving a tool that is empty. Preserve enough coins to enter the next run with usable items.

Best early order for squads

Rescue Speed helps when helpers can reach the player but the pull takes too long. Rope Reach helps when the helper must stand on unsafe ground to get a prompt. The Rescue Rope guide separates ordinary pulls, rope use, the permanent pass, and these upgrades.

Keep at least one distraction upgrade in the team plan. Preventing a fall can be cheaper than specializing every purchase around recovery. One rescue-focused player can invest while others improve lure reach or duration.

Extra tool slots may solve a loadout problem better than any one Max level, but they are separate Roblox passes rather than coin upgrades.

Understand the Max passes

The official pass inventory lists Max Throwing Range, Max Pebble Skipping, Max Toy Battery, Max Flare Radius, Max Rope Reach, and Max Rescue Speed. Each description says the named upgrade is level 3/3 forever.

That wording does not state that the pass unlocks the related equipment or refills supplies. Confirm ownership requirements in the live game. All Upgrades Maxed is also an official record, but its public description is blank, so do not invent which future systems it includes beyond what the purchase screen states.

Compare the cost of the current coin path with the pass only after reading both. A permanent shortcut can save time, but it is poor value for a tool you never carry.

Test the result

Use one familiar room before and after the upgrade. For Throwing Range, aim from the same mark to the same water. For Pebble Skipping or Toy Battery, observe how long the creature remains committed. For Flare Radius, compare a near-edge hit rather than deliberately wasting a flare.

For rope upgrades, use a safe squad test near a platform. Measure whether the prompt appears from farther away or the progress completes sooner. Do not create a dangerous fall solely to test a purchase.

Avoid common upgrade mistakes

Do not buy from a tier list without owning the tool. Do not assume a Max pass provides supplies. Do not compare values from different maps, builds, or monster settings as if the upgrade caused every change. Do not spend the entire balance and enter the next run unable to refill the equipment.

When the panel changes after an update, use the new NOW and NEXT fields. They are more reliable than a screenshot from launch week.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best upgrade?

Throwing Range or Pebble Skipping is the most broadly relevant starter choice because pebbles teach the core lure loop. Squad players may prioritize Rescue Speed or Rope Reach after identifying the exact rescue failure.

Do upgrades carry between maps?

Current guides treat the main upgrade panel as persistent, but map-specific items and Farm upgrades can have their own scope. Read the current item description before assuming cross-map use.

Does Max Flare Radius unlock Flare?

The official pass description only promises Flare Radius level 3/3. It does not state that it unlocks or supplies the tool.
