DONT SPLASH equipment solves three different problems: moving the creature with sound, creating a short control window, and recovering a teammate. Choose tools for the map and party you are actually playing. A Rescue Rope can be the most valuable squad item and occupy a useless solo slot; a basic pebble can be cheap but still clear the exact landing that ends a run.

The current public evidence supports pebbles, Bottles, Wind-up Toy, Flare, and Rescue Rope as the main documented tool set. The November 7 update may have added or teased more equipment, including community reports about Frost Boots, but an exact current inventory and unlock path were not independently verified. This Dex lists supported entries and leaves uncertain fields unset.

Build around the problem

For ordinary crossings, carry at least one sound lure. Pebbles teach the basic interaction: throw into water away from the route, wait for the creature to move, and cross. Bottles or Wind-up Toy can provide a stronger or longer distraction when their current effects and supplies are available.

For emergency control, Flare is reported to stun a hit target for a short window. It is more useful when one monster blocks a critical landing than when several creatures occupy different sides. Use it to finish one crossing or interaction, not to substitute for reading the room.

For team recovery, Rescue Rope supports a different job. It should be held by a player who stays on dry ground, watches the rear of the group, and can reach a downed teammate. Solo players should use the slot for their own route instead.

Understand supplies and unlocks

Several tools consume uses. Current guides show lobby Equipment and Supplies interfaces, pickups on routes, and Robux supply offers. Prices and pack quantities can change, so read the current panel before buying. An upgrade that makes a tool stronger does not necessarily refill its uses.

The official pass endpoint identifies Rescue Rope as a permanent reusable-rope unlock. It also identifies extra tool slots and six Max upgrade passes. That establishes the product names and benefit descriptions, not the current Robux price. A coin unlock, pass, and consumable refill can be different purchases with different persistence.

Before spending, answer three questions: does this unlock the tool, refill it, or improve it; does the benefit persist after a run; and is the item in the loadout you will actually carry?

Edit the loadout deliberately

Use the lobby Equipment interface to place owned tools into active slots. The visible keyboard number range does not prove that every slot is unlocked. Official pass descriptions identify a 4th Tool Slot and 5th Tool Slot as separate benefits.

For solo, a balanced documented loadout starts with a lure, adds an emergency control option if available, and keeps the remaining slot for the map’s repeated failure. Do not carry Rescue Rope alone.

For a squad, split functions. One player preserves a longer distraction, one holds Flare, and one carries Rescue Rope. Everybody can still use basic pebbles when available, but one caller should decide the lure direction.

Match tools to maps

Poolrooms is a good place to learn pebbles because the route repeatedly gives you dry landing decisions and ends with a longer search in Locked Exit. Farm is much longer, so preserve supplies for later timed stages and the Rotten Silo exit. Bathhouse combines moving and sinking transfers; a control tool is most useful when the creature blocks the single landing a timer requires.

Map-specific items reported in Farm or the Bathhouse update should not be assumed to work everywhere. Read the item’s current description and the map restriction in its shop panel.

Choose upgrades after using the base tool

The documented upgrade families are Throwing Range, Pebble Skipping, Toy Battery, Flare Radius, Rope Reach, and Rescue Speed. The official pass endpoint confirms permanent Max passes for each family, while community footage shows level-based coin panels.

Buy an upgrade only after the base tool fails in a repeatable way. Throwing Range matters when the safe lure point is beyond the current arc. Pebble Skipping matters when one splash does not hold attention long enough. Flare Radius matters only if Flare is owned and carried. Rope Reach and Rescue Speed matter only in squads that perform rescues.

Use Upgrades Guide for the purchase order and the boundary between current observations and official pass descriptions.

Compare value without a universal winner

The Equipment Tier List separates solo, squad, and first-buy value. It is provisional because prices, supplies, monster counts, and new tools change. A tool moves tiers when the situation changes: Rescue Rope rises in coordinated groups and falls out of a solo list entirely.

The useful question is not “Which item is S tier?” It is “Which repeated failure will this slot prevent?” If you cannot name the failure, keep the coins or Robux.

Frequently asked questions

What should I carry first?

Start with pebbles and learn the sound-lure loop. Add a stronger distraction or Flare only after you know which crossing needs it.

Is Rescue Rope good solo?

No. Its documented role is pulling a teammate from farther away. Use the slot for a self-directed tool in solo runs.

Are Frost Boots confirmed?

They appear in third-party Bathhouse update claims, but a current first-party description, reliable unlock path, and verified effect were not available for this page.
