DONT SPLASH Pebbles Guide

Use DONT SPLASH pebbles to lure the monster away from a crossing, select and throw them on PC or mobile, find refills, and judge Pebble upgrades.

Pebbles are the basic DONT SPLASH distraction tool. Select one, aim into water away from your next landing, and throw. The splash gives the creature a different sound to investigate. Watch it move before crossing; the throw is useful only when it clears the route you actually need.

Select and throw

On PC, press the pebble’s hotbar number, aim with the camera, and click to throw. Press the same number again to put the item away when you do not want an accidental use. On mobile, tap the pebble slot, aim, then tap the displayed THROW action.

The hotbar’s number hints describe item selection, not the total tool slots you own. Read the quantity before using a pebble and make sure the intended tool is highlighted.

Choose a good splash point

Aim to the side or behind the creature relative to your crossing. A good lure makes it turn away from both the takeoff and landing. A bad lure lands beside the next platform or pulls the creature along the same path you need.

Use the widest water area that still produces a readable response. If the throw barely reaches, move to a safer edge rather than stepping into water for extra range. Throwing Range upgrades exist, but the first fix should be positioning.

In a party, announce the direction and let one player throw. Several simultaneous splashes can split creature paths and make a previously safe landing unpredictable.

Wait for movement

Do not jump at the sound alone. Track the creature until it commits to the lure. Check for a second monster near the landing, especially when the party setup uses a higher count.

The lure does not freeze the creature. It can reach the splash, turn, or respond to another noise. Cross promptly once the route is clear, then stabilize on dry ground before planning the next throw.

If the creature ignores the splash, confirm that the pebble hit water and that no louder event occurred nearby. A valve, teammate fall, or another tool can create competing sound.

Find and refill pebbles

Current tool guides report gray pebble clusters on tiled platforms and lobby refill options. Approach a cluster carefully and read the pickup or quantity change. Do not enter water to collect a refill that is not required for the route.

Lobby Equipment and Supplies panels have shown both coin and Robux-related pebble options across recorded builds. Pack quantities and prices are update-sensitive. Read the current panel and distinguish a refill from a permanent unlock or upgrade.

Conserve supplies on long maps. Farm has eighteen documented stages, and Bathhouse has ten timed rooms. Use pebbles when creature position blocks a route, not simply because a room begins.

Understand Pebble Skipping

Pebble Skipping is a documented upgrade family. Community footage describes it as adding more splashes to one pebble across its level track, and the official pass inventory lists Max Pebble Skipping with a permanent level 3/3 description.

More splashes can hold attention or extend the lure, but it can also keep the creature near the chosen water longer than expected. Test one level in a familiar room before relying on exact timing in a new map.

Coin costs beyond the currently displayed next level should not be guessed. The upgrade panel shows the value and price available to your account; later levels can change.

Compare Throwing Range

Throwing Range affects how far suitable thrown supplies travel. It helps when the safe distraction point lies beyond the base arc, but a longer throw does not automatically choose a better direction.

Prioritize route reading first. If you repeatedly need to stand too close to water to reach a good lure point, the upgrade matches a real problem. If throws already land in useful water, Pebble Skipping or a different tool may provide more value.

Use pebbles on each map

In Poolrooms, save one for Locked Exit because searching four number locations takes time. In Farm, preserve supplies through early rules that do not need a lure, then spend them when a lever, machine, or long final stage blocks the route. In Bathhouse, use a pebble before boarding a moving or sinking transfer so the creature is not waiting at the only landing.

Memory rooms require a clear camera. Throw before the pattern appears if creature position is already unsafe; do not look away from the displayed route to aim mid-sequence.

Common mistakes

Throwing at the landing, jumping before the creature moves, spending several pebbles on one clear room, and copying a teammate’s throw in a different direction are the main errors. Another mistake is buying a Max upgrade before confirming that pebbles remain in your active loadout.

If the lure feels weak, observe the actual path. The problem may be direction, another monster, or competing noise rather than range or splash count.

Frequently asked questions

What does a pebble do?

It creates a water splash that the creature can investigate, letting you redirect attention away from a crossing.

Where do I get more?

Recent guides show gray route clusters and lobby refill options. Read the current quantity, currency, and pack type before buying.

Which upgrade should I buy?

Choose Throwing Range when useful water is beyond the base arc and Pebble Skipping when one throw does not hold attention long enough. Test the current level rather than assuming a universal best order.
